Anton Drexler (Munich-13 de junio de 1884 - 24 de febrero de 1942), cerrajero y político de Múnich.
Rechazado por cuestiones de salud del servicio militar durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, Drexler se unió al "Partido de la Patria" y se dedicó a las actividades de agitación política entre los trabajadores. En marzo de 1918 fundó el "Comité de los Trabajadores Libres por la Buena Paz", opuesto tanto al capitalismo como al comunismo. En octubre de 1918 creó el "Círculo de los Trabajadores Políticos" junto al periodista Karl Harrer y nuevamente con él funda otro movimiento nacionalista Völkisch, llamado "Partido Obrero Alemán" (DAP) el 5 de enero de 1919. Este grupo tenía cerca de 40 miembros, pero Drexler sólo se reunía con un pequeño grupo de agitadores de cervecería. Anton Drexler fue el autor del folleto "Mi despertar político", el cual leyó Adolf Hitler una madrugada en Múnich luego de asistir al DAP.
Drexler cambió el nombre del partido por el de Partido Nacional Socialista de los Trabajadores Alemanes (NSDAP) el 24 de febrero de 1920, cuando fueron leídos por primera vez los 25 puntos del Programa del Partido Nazi, de los cuales fue co-autor junto a Hitler. Cuando Hitler finalmente ganó el control del partido de Drexler en el otoño de 1921, Drexler tuvo que contentarse con el puesto de presidente honorario y fue marginado por Hitler y sus seguidores.
Su participación en el NSDAP concluyó cuando este fue temporalmente prohibido tras el intento de golpe de estado de 1923 (en el que Drexler no participó). Fue elegido para el parlamento de Baviera en 1924 como miembro de otro partido. No tomó parte en la renovación del NSDAP en 1925. Después de que Hitler tomase el poder en 1933, Hitler ordenó la disolución de todas las organizaciones políticas ajenas al NSDAP, por lo cual su "Liga Popular Nacional Socialista" (Volksbund) fundada en 1928 fue disuelta y su carrera política llegó a su fin.
Drexler jamás volvió a acercarse al Partido Nazi, y murió en el anonimato en Múnich el año 1942.
